ABO: Handel – Heaven and Harmony

Paul Dyer and the Australian Brandenburg Orchestra have a glorious program for Melbourne this autumn.

Handel’s triumphant Arrival of the Queen of Sheba heralds the arrival of two of the most exciting young international soloists to Australia. Portuguese tenor Fernando Guimarães and Argentine soprano Mariana Flores join the Brandenburg for a heavenly concert series. To hear the masterful Ode for Saint Cecilia’s Day in its entirety is to experience Handel’s pure Baroque genius. Taken from a text by John Dryden, this ravishing showcase for voice, orchestra and choir celebrates music as the central force in the world.

The program also includes Handel’s Cantata Look down, harmonious Saint and the duet Tra amplessi innocenti.
