Australian audiences get the chance to hear Jonny Greenwood’s latest work, Water, during the forthcoming ACO tour, Tognetti’s Beethoven. Recently, this discussion between Jonny Greenwood and Richard Tognetti was recorded at London’s Southbank Centre (4/10/14) ahead of the UK premiere of Water. The two had met previously in 2012 when, at the end of year-long tour with Radiohead, the composer had stopped off in Sydney for three months to spend time in the rehearsal studio with Richard Tognetti and the ACO.

Greenwood is one of the world’s leading guitarists, and a creative force behind Radiohead. He is also a respected composer with works for small and large classical ensembles to his credit, as well as having written the award-winning film score for There Will Be Blood, and scores for The Master, Norwegian Wood and We Need to Talk About Kevin.

Greenwood’s Water,  composed especially for the Australian Chamber Orchestra. is included in the program for the orchestra’s Tognetti’s Beethoven tour which begins October 26 and 27 in Melbourne. Other dates are:

Perth Concert Hall:  October 29
Canberra – Llewellyn Hall:  November 1
Sydney Opera House: November 2 and 3
