Italian and Australian music for voice and archlute
Emotions blaze in a recital of tumultuous passion, drama and legend, performed in the charming setting of the Hurley Vineyard Cellar Door.
Soprano Bethany Hill (PSMF Academy 2017) is passionate exponent of early, new and obscure repertoire. She is joined by Andrew Byrne, a specialist in ancient European lutes, playing the archlute – a plucked instrument somewhere between a theorbo and a Renaissance lute that was hugely popular as a continuo instrument in 17th century Italy.
Together they perform works by Caccini, Strozzi, Carissimi, Merula and Australian composer Jodie O’Regan.
