A crucible of musical history and a cultural crossroads for centuries, the city of London has drawn the likes of Mendelssohn and Mozart from afar and nurtured the talents of Britain’s finest composers.
MCO celebrates the musical spirit of Britain in this program of vibrant colors and contrasts, including music from the eight-year-old Mozart’s divinely charming London Sketchbook, Mendelssohn’s timeless masterpiece the Hebrides Overture, and atmospheric cameos by Warlock, Ireland and Byrd.
