The Australian pianist Michael Leslie, who resides in Munich, remains at the peak of his artistic powers even at the advanced age of 82. In his playing, emotional authenticity is wedded to technical power and structural clarity, resulting in interpretations of a maturity and depth rarely found among contemporary piano virtuosi. Leslie views the inherent message of the composer’s music as a calling, a commitment, and the sole standard by which to measure his performances.
