Rieko Makita: Night & Reflections

Having performed internationally, in venues like the Sydney Opera House and The City Recital Hall, Rieko Makita is an award-winning pianist and composer currently based in London and Tokyo.

Rieko made her solo debut at the Royal Albert Hall in February to a sold-out audience and performed live on BBC Radio 3 as the featured artist on ‘In Tune’ with Sean Rafferty in June 2024. ​

This program explores the themes of night, memory, and dreams through a collection of evocative piano works. From the beloved classic Clair de Lune to Ravel’s Ondine, which conjures an oceanic night filled with mystery, the programme reveals the many shades and hidden depths of the nocturnal world.
