Melbourne Bach Choir’s Christmas Fanfare 2025

To round out a year of wonderful choral singing, Melbourne Bach Choir and Melbourne Bach Chamber Choir present a programme of music for the Christmas season. Choral pieces by composers from 16th Century to 21st Century include both familiar and lesser known composers. Well-known carols programmed for audience participation, brass and organ accompaniment supplement this exciting programme.

Along with the traditional music of Christmas, the concert also includes works by composers Herbert Howells, Cecilia McDowall and Johnathon Dove. We are excited to programme Dr Calvin Bowman’s new setting of Jacaranda Carol by Australian poet Mark Tredinnick, commissioned by Melbourne Bach Choir for Choir, brass and organ, with the support of the Peggy & Leslie Cranbourne Foundation. Melbourne.  Bach Choir Scholars will have the pleasure of presenting John Tavener’s beautiful setting of Blake’s poem The Lamb. The highlight for many will of course be the familiar carols, accompanied by brass and with opportunities for audience participation.
