In this second of two Signature Event performances, the Freiburg Baroque Orchestra and piano virtuoso Kristian Bezuidenhout join forces with Australia’s sparkling soprano Siobhan Stagg.
With her ‘ethereal stage presence and impossibly beautiful voice’ (The Age), Siobhan leads a breathtaking extravaganza of Mozart’s most-captivating arias. As the acclaimed soprano’s crystalline voice soars throughout the Elisabeth Murdoch Hall, the raw emotion and stunning virtuosity of these great works transports listeners to the elegant salons of the 18th century.
Written at the age of 18, Mozart’s Symphony No.29 overflows with youthful effervescence. Often considered one of his greatest accomplishments, the light-hearted charm and elegance displayed throughout curates a listening experience of true entertainment and delight.
Praised pianist Kristian Bezuidenhout’s rendition of Mozart’s beloved Piano Concerto No.23 rounds out two unforgettable nights of music-making. With delicate tones that blend seamlessly with the orchestra’s period instruments, Freiburg Baroque Orchestra will leave audiences marveling at how this authentic approach brings new life to familiar melodies.
