The Preston Symphony Orchestra opens its 2025 season with a concert celebrating the exhilaration of classical music in the 21st century. In a year marking the orchestra’s 75th anniversary, the season aims to display the orchestra’s commitment to music of the present as well as the past, local as well as global .
The first concert, Jubilation, includes works by Shostakovich, Bruch and Melbourne composer Katy Abbott. Guest soloists are MSO violinist Anne-Marie Johnson, bass-baritone Andrew O’Connor and vocalist Sunny Kim, and the conductor is Andrew Groch.
