Joined by exploratory vocalist, Georgie Darvidis, their performance recounts themes of love, longing, loss and melancholy. Guitar and vocals are intimately balanced as they move through the charm of Elizabethan song and the English Baroque period with flair and versatility.
Followed by the highly evocative and haunting characteristics of Spanish folk music in Manuel De Falla’s La Vida Breve and Siete Canciones Populares Españolas. The full catastrophe of love is painstakingly captured in selection of five songs by American songstress, Neko Case.
These wonderful self-penned arrangements are simply magic in the hands of Melbourne Guitar Quartet and Georgie Darvidis.
