One of Australia’s leading pianists, Kristian Chong is known for his virtuosic pianism, dynamic range and affinity for collaboration. Cellist Timo-Veikko Valve (Tipi) is recognised as one of the most versatile musicians of his generation. The principal cellist for the Australian Chamber Orchestra, he brings unmatched precision and richness to his performances.
Johannes Brahms Cello Sonata No.2 in F, Op.99 Cello Sonata No.1 in E minor, Op.38
Their performance in Primrose Potter Salon will see the pair undertake both Brahms Sonatas for cello and piano. The first sonata is a brooding work with poignant and beautiful contrasts that only Brahms can produce. The second sonata is exciting, vibrant and one of his most colourful works. A superb evening of chamber music not to be missed with two of Australia’s finest chamber musicians.
