Gloriana Chamber Choir presents: SONG OF SONGS

Our first concert for 2020 is a programme of brilliant and ecstatic works inspired by the Song of Solomon; text that has inspired composers from across the centuries. Clemens’ Ego flos campi and Victoria’s Vadam et circuibo are both jewels from the Renaissance. From the polychoral tradition are imposing work for double and triple choir by Lassus and Praetorius. And we are thrilled to be returning to Daniel-Lesur’s Le Cantique des Cantiques, conceived for a twelve-part vocal ‘orchestra’ and unquestionably one of the finest a cappella choral works of the twentieth century.
