Musica Borealis/Australis : Nordic Baroque & Folk

Musica Borealis/Australis will take audiences on a celestial journey through time and place, exploring the baroque and traditional folk music of the Nordic countries. The north wind has blown our special guest violist Krishna Nagaraja (Italy/Finland) to this side of the globe, and together with The Muses’ Delight, will explore a colourful program combining well known and rarely heard baroque composers, as well as Krishna’s own arrangements of traditional folk music based on ancient styles.

The Muses’ Delight and Krishna Nagaraja are excited to present a program combining old and new styles to bring together lovers of music from different musical worlds.

For our Castlemaine concert, will be supported by the wonderful local harpist Allan Evans, who will start the evening with of traditional Irish tunes.
