Tafelmusik Baroque Orchestra
Elisa Citterio Musical Director
Step back into the age of Johann Sebastian Bach. With the help of 21st-century technology and expert research, experience his music on instruments of his own time, and explore the work of the artisans – papermakers, violin carvers, string spinners and performers – who helped him realise his musical genius.
Tafelmusik Baroque Orchestra return to Australia with an enthralling new show and an exciting new Music Director and lead violin, Elisa Citterio. In Bach and His World, they draw on spoken word, stunning projected video and detailed images as well as their speciality in period instrument performance to bring an extra layer of meaning to this great music.
Like its predecessors The Galileo Project and House of Dreams, Alison Mackay’s latest creation is a miraculous blend of sights and sounds.
Program includes:
JS BACH Brandenburg Concerto no 3
JS BACH Orchestral Suite no 1 in C major
JS BACH Excerpts from Goldberg Variations
